Putting Others First Begins With Taking Care Of Yourself.

One of the best parts of being over 60 is doing things with (AND FOR) our family and friends. That, in itself, is the biggest motivation in my life to exercise and eat healthy. I realize I need to be in the best health possible if I am going to live my best life and help our kids and grandkids to do the same.
A big motivation in our lives to exercise and eat healthy should be the well-being of our spouses and kids. (Matthew 23:11-12)
I want to be independent as long as possible. If I could choose how I leave this world, it would be in my sleep after a day of jumping out of an airplane with my grandkids or doing a four-mile hike with Jean.
I have found that even when I need any health care (knee, hip, heart, etc.), the better I eat and exercise before I go in, the better the outcome and the less rehab time I need.
The better we treat our bodies, the better our bodies will treat us. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
Sitting on the sofa for hours watching TV, drinking our Mountain Dews, and throwing down a bowl of buttered popcorn, we are saying that our short-lived pleasures are more important than the hardships we will place on our loved ones, sometimes for years after.
If you don’t take care of yourself now, your family will have to later. (John 21:18)
Feeling better, looking better, and being more for others starts with taking care of yourself.
