When Jess (my daughter) texted to say my grandson, Isaac, was flying in from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, due to an approaching storm, my first thought was, "When and where are we all going to get together."

Isaac arrived late Monday evening, and on Tuesday morning, I called him and Jess to see if they could have lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Their response; "YES"! I called Micah, and he said, "I'll be there Papaw". Isaac said, "Papaw, I am going to get Malachi at daycare." Jess texted Layla at school and said we all are having lunch at Los Rios. No joke, Layla picks up her books and tells her teacher she is going to lunch with her family, gets in her car, and drives over. Jess called Frank, and he said, "Finishing up a meeting now, on my way.”

Living life to the fullest and leaving a legacy starts with the mindset, "Family—Everything Else Can Wait.” Jean and I feel so strongly about this that we have a framed word image hanging in the dining room, where we meet monthly for Sunday lunches.
