I shared a similar post a couple of years back, but this is worth repeating for those maybe missed it.

I enjoy, as many of you do, finding a good bargain. Similarly, I enjoy dining out with family and friends. What I have found makes dining out with my family even better is not having to pay for it. This is how we do that

Usually on Fridays, sometimes during the week, Kroger offers 4x points on gift cards for most restaurants near us (there are like 50 to choose from within 6-8 minsšŸ˜). When we buy our groceries, we will pick up gift cards for the places we plan to eat at this month. We also look out for grocery specials that offer 4X the points. Paying for the cards and groceries with our Capital One Savor card, we get another 3% cash back.

Combining the gift cards, the 4x the product specials, and the rest of our groceries, we end up with enough rewards to get $1 off per gallon of gas.

Then, whenever we both get low on gas and whenever it’s convenient, we meet up at the gas station. Between the two vehicles, we purchase around 30 gallons of gas and again paid with our Capital One Card, which gives us another 1% off—total rewards about 32-$33.

Yesterday I took Jean out to lunch for one of her birth-week celebrations, and it didn’t cost me anything. You will not believe how much better a salad and ā€œSmash Burgerā€ taste when you can get 2 meals, leave a 25% tip, and not pay for them.

I see Applebee’s on the horizon for next month. Totally enjoying my LastBestBite...for free!
