It Happened 49 Years Ago And My Life Has Never Been The Same Since. It Will Not Happen Again Until 2049.

ON EASTER SUNDAY, we celebrate the most significant event of all time: the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Luke 22-24). On that Resurrection Sunday, 2000 years ago, time was literally divided from B.C. (before Christ) to A.D. (anno Domini—year of our Lord), and mankind was forever changed. On that day, Jesus made it possible for us to live with God throughout eternity.
ON EASTER SUNDAY, April 18th, 1976, Jean and I were married, and my life was forever changed. What makes that day unique is that Easter has not fallen on April 18th again and will not happen again until 2049. Jean always says, "You're one of a kind" (although usually, when she says it, it sounds facetious), and I agree, even our anniversary is unique.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Marriage doesn't just happen on that "special day" but in the years that follow. Like our relationship with God, marriage is not a one-day happening but a lifetime process.
WE DECIDED TO GO RETRO for this anniversary. Forty-nine years ago today, after our wedding, we went to Gatlinburg (TN) for a one-night honeymoon (we had to work the next day). This time, we are spending a couple of days at Margaritaville Island Inn (what a view from our balcony) in Pigeon Forge (TN), hiking, and strolling through the fun places.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my very unique and loving wife! You are the best!
