Oftentimes, The Best Part Of The Hike Is The Company and The Conversation, And That’s Perfectly Fine.

On our hike along the 3.5-mile Black Branch Trail near Dahlonega, Georgia, we didn’t encounter any breathtaking views, waterfalls, or make any new friends. In fact, outside of doing a balancing act on some stones to cross a creek, there wasn’t anything really worth mentioning. The only other person we spotted from a distance was a man on a trail bike. It was just Jean and me.

Most likely, it’s not one of those hikes that we will do again. But it was one that I wouldn’t have missed for anything. It was just a peaceful, enjoyable walk in the woods with some light conversation about some fond memories. It reminded me how blessed I am to have my favorite hiking partner.
