Larry: "Hey, sweetie, I came across an article stating that if a 71-year-old man can perform five chair squats in seven seconds with his arms crossed over his chest, he's in better shape than 95% of men his age."

Jean: "Really?"

Larry: "Yes! Can you time me?"

Jean: "Sure."

Larry: "Just let me know when to start."

Jean: "Go!"

Larry: (Very quickly counting times he is up and down) "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven." (Stops and, in an aggravated tone, says), "I know that took more than seven seconds."

Jean: "Yeah, it was 17 seconds, but I thought it was so cute. You looked like a rooster bobbing his head."

We both laughed so hard we were crying.

Did you know research suggests that frequent laughter can help you live longer, particularly by lowering the risk of mortality from cardiovascular diseases and infections. Studies show that people with a strong sense of humor, especially women, have lower mortality rates. Laughter acts as a "health-protecting" tool, reducing stress hormones and boosting the immune system.

In this season of our lives, you need to laugh a lot. Not only will you have fun, but you will also live longer.
