Putting on your shoes and stepping out the door. Getting out the door is the hardest part of walking or strength-building for most of us. Although you may feel tired, have you noticed how much better you feel emotionally, mentally, and even relationally after your walk or workout?

If you are like me and it is hard to get started, here are two things that make it easier to get out the door...

  1. Do it with someone else. Scheduling a time with someone else will get you started, and more importantly, it will become something to look forward to.

  2. Listen to podcasts, your favorite music, or an audible Bible study. I usually don't work out with anyone at the gym; honestly, that is ok with me. This year, I am going through the Bible in a year. So, for the first 25 minutes, I have an audible Bible reading and commentary. Then, I go to podcasts, books, or my music. Usually, I finish my workout long before I want to stop listening.

Next Blog: NEVER FORGET the "why" behind taking care of yourself physically; it's just as much about not being a burden to your family as it is about enjoying your last best bite.
