"(Laughing) Just coming from the gym. Why, do you want to buy me lunch?”

"I can’t do lunch, but I’m off today, and I was wondering if you and Nana would like to join us for dinner."

I’ve learned that if we want to influence our grandkids actively, we must be very flexible. I have also learned that the time spent with them is worth adjusting my routine.

We had a wonderful dinner and walked in the park, savoring my last best bite with my grandkids.
